Ski leasing and hire purchase in Austria: models, costs and process
Updated: September 2026
Austrian businesses can finance their ski and snowboard fleet with us through leasing or hire purchase. This guide explains how the two differ, which net prices we base quotes on and how delivery is scheduled before the season starts.
The short answer
- Austria is the one country where we currently offer both models: leasing and hire purchase. With hire purchase the fleet becomes your property at the end of the term; with leasing it stays with the lessor.
- Pricing basis: EUR 420 per pair of skis, EUR 299 per snowboard, EUR 129 per pair of snowboard boots, EUR 149 per binding, helmets from EUR 29 – all net and on average.
- Financing starts at EUR 5,000 net asset value, terms run from 6 to 60 months, down payments can be entered in euros or percent.
Leasing or hire purchase – which fits your operation?
Both spread the investment over the term but aim at different outcomes. Hire purchase suits operations that keep the fleet for several seasons. Leasing suits a planned replacement cycle after 24 or 36 months when guests expect current equipment. How either model is treated for tax and accounting in your business is a question for your tax adviser – we supply the contract and asset data.
- Hire purchase: ownership transfers at the end of the term
- Leasing: predictable replacement cycle, return or follow-up agreement
- Both from EUR 5,000 net asset value, terms of 6 to 60 months
- A down payment lowers the monthly rate, entered in euros or percent
Typical fleet sizes in Austrian operations
Ski schools in Tyrol, Salzburg and Vorarlberg usually plan by course places in the peak week, rental stations by peak occupancy rather than season average, hotels by beds. As a planning figure we use one unit per four to six beds where rental is actively offered, plus five to ten percent reserve for repairs. A unit is one pair of skis or one snowboard.
- 50 units (30 pairs of skis, 20 boards, 20 boots, 20 bindings): around EUR 24,140 net
- 100 units (60 pairs of skis, 40 boards, 40 boots, 40 bindings, 50 helmets): around EUR 49,730 net
- 250 units: around EUR 124,180 net
Custom designs for ski schools and resorts
Because we develop skis and snowboards ourselves, topsheets can carry your ski school, hotel or village branding. Multi-site ski schools can separate fleets visually; for hotels the equipment becomes part of the guest experience instead of anonymous rental stock. Custom designs need lead time – plan sample approval and production for spring or summer.
From quote to delivery
You build the fleet in the calculator and get a non-binding quote to print or send directly. Then come requirement check, design and sample approval, the financing decision on leasing or hire purchase, and delivery with recorded quantities before the season. Additional units during the season are possible from available stock.
